Post 5: Your future job

Imagen
If there is one thing I am passionate about it is research, I was previously studying to be a scientist, but I got pregnant before finishing my degree, and with a baby the path to a PhD would be more difficult.   When I was in my 3rd year I had to rethink my professional future and opt for a career with better economic expectations, but at the same time related to what I like, science...  The career of chemistry and pharmacy was perfect and now I am learning new activities in which I am good at and I didn't know it. I have loved pharmaceutical marketing, and I hope to be able to do a future internship in this, it is the first job I see myself related to, as it is dynamic, fun and challenging, plus I would have a work schedule that will allow me to reconcile family life.  The above is my nearest goal, since I do not plan to die without developing myself in what I love the most and my dream job, which is research. I hope that when my daughter is more independent I wil...

Post 4: A Meal or Food You Really Like

Imagen
I had previously said that my favorite food was legumes, especially lentils, but now I feel that it is much more difficult to choose a favorite dish, since there are so many rich and healthy foods. I am also starting to eat better and more varied food, as my diet was terrible during the quarantine. The recipe I have most enjoyed preparing lately has been stuffed chili. If there is something that must be on my plate is the spicy, I can not live without it ajajaj is like an obsession, I love to go to "La vega" and buy all types of chili that exist. Besides this food is an excellent source of vitamins and antioxidants.

Post 3: The Cringe

I have always been very fond of plants. When we went to the Homecenter with my parents I always liked to go to the gardening part and choose a plant. One day, when I was about 8 years old we went to this store, but this time I wanted a bonsai, not knowing that these little trees were so expensive, obviously my parents said they could not buy it, they showed me beautiful flowers and other types of plants but I wanted that one and only that one. I wanted to have one so much that I stayed next to it as a protest until they bought it for me haha, my parents went to buy things they needed for the house and I was waiting for them to come for me, until at one point I saw a tall man with a blue shirt coming, just like my dad, and I went to the store to buy it, and I went running, I threw the sleeve of his shirt and started to make a tantrum so that he would buy me the bonsai, I still remember that I shouted "DAD BUY ME A BONSAI" then I looked up and it was not him, hahahaha I was v...

Post 2: The best holidays ever

Imagen
The last vacation I had was the best, I don't know if it was because I miss it now that there are more restrictions on travel. They were in the summer of 2019, in the south of Chile, I spent about a month between Valdivia, San Jose de la Mariquina and Niebla. I traveled with my mom to visit her family, she was born and lived there before moving to Santiago, so it is important to go back to her roots from time to time. Personally I also have a great connection with these places. Every time I go there I live different experiences that enrich my life. This last trip was a mix of experiences between the warmth of home, homemade flavors, beautiful landscapes, walks through native forests and Valdivian jungle, recharge energy in the river and be in harmony with nature. In spite of being a simple trip, it has been very meaningful because it was a break from a very hard year. I would love to be able to go back right now after such a long time of confinement and mental exhaustio...

Post 1: A country you would like to visit

Imagen
A place I want to visit since I was a child is India, more specifically the city of Agra, where the taj mahal is located. At one point in my life I was very interested in architecture and the history behind each building. This is why I love this palace, which is made mostly of white quartz and combines elements of Islamic, Persian, Indian and even Turkish architecture. The Taj Mahal was built as a mausoleum after the death of Emperor Shah Jahan's wife. The best builders, the best workers, the best jewels, the best stones. Everything was little for the resting place of his wife; even the course of the Yamuna River was diverted so that the Taj Mahal could be reflected in its waters. And there, after two decades of construction, in 1648, his beloved Mumtaz Mahal was buried. Years later, the emperor himself was buried next to her so that they could rest together eternally. It is somewhat whimsical to want to travel to visit just one tourist attraction, but I am sure there are many mo...

Post 0: How do you feel about English?

Hi, I'm Valentina, a chemistry and pharmacy student. To be very honest, my experience with English since I was in high school was not very good. Languages don't come easy to me and I was frustrated when I tried hard and couldn't learn.  Being at the university it has been a constant stress to feel that I know nothing compared to my classmates and it makes me anxious to face speaking and not knowing how to communicate. I try to do all the activities so I don't get lost in class, but I still feel insecure. I know that English is a very necessary tool, and I have learned to understand it in papers and scientific texts, but I feel that I still don't know how to communicate.

Post 8: A subject you enjoyed studying

Imagen
It is difficult to choose a favorite subject. So far there are many subjects that fascinate me, but if I had to choose one from this semester it would be Pharmaceutical Marketing. It is a very interesting area, where I have been able to learn more about social sciences and human behavior. Studying people's interests and how they make decisions. Before starting the course I only thought that marketing was the same as advertising, and now I have been able to expand my knowledge and learn that it is a scientific discipline that is framed within the social sciences using the techniques available to facilitate proper decision making. In order to achieve this objective, psychology, sociology, communication sciences and economics, among others, are integrated. In addition to instruments such as accounting, statistics, computer science, research, econometrics, etc. In addition, the professor is very close to his students, he explains in a dynamic way to make learning more entertaining.
